The Different Sources of Electricity

What makes your computer running smoothly? What makes your cell phone batteries keep full charged, and how your foods stay chilled? It’s the electricity that done all those jobs. Yes, that’s right, electricity is so much helping our daily life. We shall be thankful for this kind of facility because back in the year of 1800’s when the electricity still not found yet, every activities will work with some kind of steam, or even with human strength. This kind of “easiness” that we enjoy today is the souvenirs from the inventors back there.

The electricity advantages of that I mention above is also have several disadvantages that sometimes endangers human life like the existence of dangerous construction of the so called “Sutet” that mainly constructed among the peoples residence to connect or distribute one electric cable to many houses nearby. It also contains a massive volts that could kill a man in just a second in a single touch, and sutet also spread radiation for whoever lives nearby, so everybody lives there could get some kind of disease. This kind of electricity system is just used by a nation that have a little fund to upgrading the lifeholds necessity like Indonesia for instance. In this country, the national factory that handles nations electricity still using electric cable that so much complicated, the cables are connects from an electric pole to many houses. But, can you imagine when there are circuits that broken? An electric technician is often climb the electric pole and fix it, this is so risky to climb the pole, the technician could fall and just die, but the technician is also have to fix the circuit that has a killer voltage that ready to buzz him.

A save electricity method is applied by a powerful country such as Netherland. There, we can find windmills that works the electricity in all over nation, it works when the windmill got winds to move it, and that is why the windmills are located in a wide ground where the winds blow strong. This method is so much safer than in Indonesia. So what’s the burden? What factors that differentiate these two countries? First of all, is the people that have a mindset to make a life easier and safer and make it to reality. Indonesia is lack of inventors, so when there is something to use, they just use it and they don’t try to develop it. The second problem is there is no free land in Indonesia to make a windmill, we are too busy to construct buildings for offices or shopping centers, so there are no free lands left. We know that Indonesia is a tropical country, automatically there are winds to work it, it such a shame for us to waste such potential.

We as young people are have to make this country a better place to live, we have to increase the potential that we and this country have to make Indonesia get a place in the world’s eyes, we just have to start from the little and move to a bigger margin of aim to make it happen, if we try it there is so much way to make us proud to Indonesia and Indonesia will no longer have to be despised anymore.

Kelimutu Coloured Lakes

Kelimutu is a passively degassing stratovolcano capped by three crater lakes containing exotic fluids and whose physico-chemical expressions have changed dramatically through the years. The volcano is located on Flores, an island along the Lesser Sunda islands chain of Indonesia. An early description of Kelimutu was provided by the French naturalist LeRoux, who mentions it in his travel log of eastern Indonesia in 1896. A more comprehensive geologic and topographic survey was performed in the 1920's by the Dutch colonial geologist Kemmerling, who traveled through Flores on horseback and early motor vehicle. Since 1929 no publicly reported systematic survey of Flores has been done using modern techniques.
Kelimutu Crater Lakes

Three crater lakes are located on the eastern summit of Kelimutu. Each of the lakes has a distinctive physical structure, a unique geochemical and hydrothermal regime, and a particular historical sequence of color changes controlled by changes in physico-chemical conditions.

Tiwu Ata Polo the "enchanted lake", lies on the southeastern side of the volcanic peak. A thermal plume in the northwest part of the lake indicates underlying subaerial fumarolic or hydrothermal activity. A white froth is present on the lake's surface around the plume when the convective activity momentarily increases. Rock debris is often carried into Tiwu Ata Polo during rainstorms by water draining the volcano summit around the lake. Two peaks abutting the crater rim help stabilize the east and northeast crater wall, while further around to the southeast a dip suggests a possible one-time overflow outlet. Such an outlet would have fed the river Ria Mbuli, whose upland source is in that area.

Fatahilah Museum

Museum Fatahilah/Museum Sejarah Jakarta/Museum Batavia is one of the many interesting tourist spot at Jakarta.
